Dementia group hails £12k funding as vital boost to keep going

Over a quarter of a million pounds has been given to 27 dementia projects across Scotland. This is the third year of ESGA funding and the largest allocation to date.

And group staff and members are “delighted” to receive lifeline cash.

The organisation was first launched in January 2019 and aims to provide socialisation, companionship and support for people living with dementia and their carers.

Founder and chairperson Karen McShane said: “We were awarded £12,000 from Age Scotland.

“The Engage community mental health and wellbeing fund also awarded us just over £5,000 which means we are able to sustain the price increases we are experiencing and extend what we do further.

“The money will help fund our running costs, catering, activities and outings; bringing support organisations to talk to our members on a variety of care issues.
