Purple Army begin season with win against Fife but brought back down to earth by Dundee

Glasgow Clan ended their weekend on a downer after failing to build on their win against Fife Flyers in the Challenge Cup.

Saturday saw the ice-hockey season begin with a bang at the Braehead Arena after Corey Neilson’s side skated their way to a 3-1 victory.

After a strong start from the home team, it was Brett Neumann who would unlock the door for the Braehead side as he slotted the puck into the bottom corner of the net to make it 1-0.

Before the end of the period, Neumann grabbed his and Clan’s second when Brayden Burke's shot was saved but the rebound fell to the goalscorer and he slid it home.
