Tributes paid to motorcyclist who died after crash

A MAN who died after a crash has been remembered as a “talented musician” who had “many friends and followers”.

Jay Newby-Gallagher died following a crash between a motorbike and a blue Renault Zoe on Northway in Maghull at around 8.30am on Wednesday, May 14.

The keen biker was on a Suzuki motorbike which was involved in the crash with the car outside the Aldi store at the junction of Dover Road.

Mr Newby-Gallagher, who is from Maghull, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tragically, the 34-year-old had been due to perform at the Scotch Piper Inn on Friday. In a tribute posted to Facebook, the Scotch Piper said: “We are devastated to hear of the tragic passing of Jay Newby-Gallagher yesterday and send our deepest condolences to his family.

“Jay has played at the Scotch Piper several times and was in fact due to play this Friday. He was a talented musician and had many friends and followers here who will miss him deeply. Rest in peace Jay.”
