Govt notified Odisha about Coldrif: TN min

The Tamil Nadu (TN) government had alerted the Madhya Pradesh government and the Union Health Ministry about the presence of a toxic substance in Coldrif cough syrup, besides notifying authorities in Odisha and Puducherry, and thus averted a major tragedy, state Health Minister Ma Subramanian claimed Friday.

Facing flak from AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami and the MP government over the death of children linked to the consumption of the adulterated cough syrup manufactured in TN, Subramanian denied any regulatory lapse on the part of the government.
