Cabinet approves India-UK trade deal

India and UK are set to sign a free trade agreement. The agreement aims to boost trade between the two nations. The pact will remove taxes on some exports and imports. It also addresses issues like intellectual property rights
The cabinet Tuesday approved the free trade agreement between India and UK, which will be signed in London July 24, sources said.
The pact, officially called as comprehensive economic and trade agreement, will be signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to London.
Modi’s four-day visit to United Kingdom and Maldives begins Wednesday. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will accompany the prime minister.
The two countries announced the conclusion of the negotiations for the trade agreement May 6.
