MESSAGE REMOVED FROM STALKER'S CHANNEL AFTER POST SHOWS THE CLIP TO SOCIAL MEDIA GIANT
AN Alex Belfield video dubbed by one of the stalker’s victims as “abhorrent” has been removed after the Post flagged it up with YouTube.
Belfield was jailed in September 2022 over a campaign of stalking which saw him target two BBC presenters, a videographer and a theatre blogger.
The former BBC radio presenter was sentenced to a total of five years and 26 weeks, with the court making it clear at the time that he would serve half of this in prison and the other half on licence. It means that Belfield is set to be released from HMP Fosse Way in June and ahead of the release, videos have been appearing on his YouTube channel to promote the fact that he is writing six books and going on a tour.
The most recent video, posted on Easter Sunday, featured an Al-generated recording of Belfield’s voice played over his custody image. The video rubbished the crimes for which he has been convicted and made false allegations about his court case.
The Post sent YouTube a link to the latest video and it has now been removed along with several others.
YouTube has also issued a “strike” on Belfield’s ‘Voice of Reason’ channel, which means the channel could be suspended if further strikes are issued.
