SWIFT END TO SHORT REIGN AT CITY GROUND AS LOSS TO CHELSEA IS THE FINAL STRAW

- By SARAH CLAPSON

DURING his first days in the Nottingham Forest job, Ange Postecoglou got lost heading to the City Ground.

Many would argue he never really did find his way on the banks of the Trent.

The 60-year-old's appointment as head coach was too much of a change of direction for the Reds. And now they are at a crossroads once again.

This time, owner Evangelos Marinakis has to get it right. There is simply no margin for error.

Plenty of Forest fans felt Postecoglou was the wrong appointment from the start as they pointed to Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League struggles under him last season. He needed to hit the ground running to ease their concerns but he did the exact opposite.

Moreover, many supporters felt he did not even try to get them on board. Postecoglou said himself, it mattered little to him whether he won them over or not.

He didn't. And owner Marinakis had seen enough by the end, too. After 39 days, eight games and six defeats Postecoglou was gone. Sacked within 20 minutes of the final whistle of Saturday's 3-0 reverse to Chelsea.

\"The trust has been instructed to make over £93 million in cuts in this financial year. It's just not possible to get better services for less money. We call on our local MPs to meet with minister Wes Streeting to demand that the money is there to fund the health services we all rely on. Rachel Reeves must not try to balance her books by leaving the NHS short.
