CALVERTON'S INFRASTRUCTURE 'NOT SUSTAINABLE' SAYS COUNCILLOR
CONCERNS have been raised over the potential further expansion of a Nottinghamshire village.
A new council document has prompted concern that hundreds of additional homes could be constructed around Calverton.
Bellway finished an 82-home estate on Flatts Lane in 2024, just down from Persimmon’s more than 350-home development on nearby Park Road.
Now Gedling Borough Council has released a list of areas that could be allocated for housing in the borough in its “issues and options” document, ahead of a consultation that will shape where, and how, new housing developments will be built.
Calverton was identified as a potential location for new homes in the document, with “possible development” sites marked around the northern and southwestern edges of the village.
