Taxman names and shames businesses who didn't pay

HMRC has named and shamed county businesses and bosses who have failed to pay millions of pounds in tax.

The taxman says eight firms and business people from the county had not paid their fair share of tax, with the amount owed totalling more than £12 million.

Tax officials say each entry was specific to the dates mentioned, so directors may have changed their behaviour, may no longer be at the published address, and businesses or premises named may have changed hands. A person or business appears on the list if they have made at least one deliberate default on more than £25,000 in tax. The list is updated every three months and defaulters' details are removed after a year.
