SIX Nottinghamshire people and businesses - including a management consultancy and a Chinese takeaway - have failed to pay a combined £10.7million in tax, new HMRC figures have shown.

The UK's tax and customs authority has published the details of tax defaulters, which received penalties either for deliberate errors in their tax returns or deliberately failing to comply with their tax obligations.

The body listed firms from the county which had been judged to have not paid their fair share of tax. HMRC caveated the information by stating each entry was specific to the dates mentioned, so directors may have changed their behaviour, may no longer be at the published address, and the business or premises may have changed hands.
