THE county’s first “red route” will be introduced on roads that have been plagued for years by dangerous car meets.

Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottinghamshire Police and the operator of Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station are working together to combat parking on and around roundabouts off the A453.

The red route will mean that all stopping, waiting and loading will be strictly prohibited and monitored by cameras with penalty charge notices for those who ignore it.

Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottinghamshire Police and Uniper Energy - the power station operator - have worked together to combat obstructive parking on and around roundabouts off the A453, outside the power station.

It will mean that all stopping, waiting and loading will be strictly prohibited and monitored by cameras, the enforcement of which will be carried out by the police and penalty charge notices issued to vehicle owners.
