Staffing problems still plague prison before release of report

CONCERNS RAISED ABOUT HEALTH TRUST'S WORK

STAFFING problems still plague a troubled prison before the release of a new inspection report.

Lowdham Grange Prison, which has been dogged by failures and scandals, was recently inspected by healthcare watchdog the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Care for its 800-plus inmates is provided by Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which has itself has been the subject of scandals including failures to care for Nottingham attacks killer Valdo Calocane.

While the CQC has not yet published its report, the trust's own documents revealed it had previously been served with warning notices - which can result in care providers being suspended over its care at Lowdham Grange and high-security Rampton Hospital.
