Police plea as driver hurt in unprovoked hammer attack

POLICE are searching for a suspect after a man was attacked with a hammer.

The victim, who is in his 40s, was sitting in his car in Bramcote Lane, Wollaton, at about 11am on Saturday, August 30, when a stranger approached him.

He accused the victim of damaging a nearby parked car before laying into him with a hammer.

The victim, who required hospital treatment after suffering injuries to his hand and mouth, told police he did not damage to another vehicle, as had been claimed by the attacker.
