'Please crack on' with fixing fire-risk cladding

PEOPLE living in a Nottingham tower block imperilled by construction defects have urged contractors to fix it quickly to prevent potential catastrophe.

Urgent repairs have been scheduled at the 10-storey Atrium building in Nottingham city centre, which has cladding that could spread fire.

While plans for its refitting have now been submitted to Nottingham City Council, residents in the 109-home building have understandably expressed their nervousness over the wait for the repairs.

Josh Packham, 25, who was walking into the apartment building on Waterfront Plaza off Station Street, said: "I'm relieved I do not need to move out - if they have to board it up for a year I won't be bothered as long as it is solved, as it's obviously something that needs to be done.

"Crack on please."
