Pizza makers to change sick pay rate amid financial worry

The Pizza Factory in Lenton Lane

A PIZZA factory in Nottingham that supplies the majority of British supermarkets including Tesco and Aldi is facing “significant and unsustainable cost pressures”.

Food suppliers 2 Sisters, which owns The Pizza Factory at the Queen’s Drive industrial estate in Gateside Road, is considering making changes to employees’ sick pay amid the financial struggles.

A notice on display at the factory states the company is negotiating changing its policy so staff are given statutory sick pay - the minimum amount firms in the UK must pay employees when they are too ill to work.
