Our pick of the county's best pumpkin patches
Nottingham Post

Whether you're a fan of Hallowee'en or not, picking your own pumpkin makes for a great family day out, with fun, food and drink often on offer as well.
lists five of the best pumpkin patches in Nottinghamshire
THE nights are drawing in, the leaves on the trees are changing colour and pumpkin spice lattes are back in coffee shops. It can only mean one thing - autumn is well and truly here.
Summer officially ended on September 22, replaced by the season with Goose Fair, Hallowe'en and Bonfire Night.
Love it or loathe it, Hallowe'en gets bigger and bigger in the UK every year - and pumpkins are very much a part of that.
While you can buy one in the supermarket to carve into a ghoulish grin or turn into soup, it's far more fun to go out into a muddy field and pick your own.
Tens of thousands of pumpkins, squashes and gourds are grown across Nottinghamshire, so there's plenty of weird and wonderful colourful varieties to go around.
We have rounded up the best pumpkin patches to pick-your-own.
If it's bad weather, check venues are open before heading out and in any case it's advisable to wear wellies or boots.
One popular site won't be open this year, however. Harvesting at Debdale Lane Pumpkin Patch in Mansfield Woodhouse has been thwarted due to extreme weather in the summer. Around 10,000 pumpkins were planted but despite best efforts to keep them hydrated they won't be ready in time.
The Houldsworth family, who run the farm, said: "We are really disappointed for all the families who enjoy coming year on year but I'm afraid that's just how farming goes.
"But on a positive note we are definitely going to try again for the 2026 season."
