Opening date for gym after long struggle

AN opening date has been revealed for the new Castle Gym in Nottingham, with the team behind it saying they hope it will become "the leading fitness facility in the country".

The multi-million-pound site in Maid Marian Way will be kitted out with the latest equipment and aims to bring a new fitness culture to the city, bosses say. With memberships ranging between £65 and £75, the “headliner” venue will feature custom changing areas, a makeup zone and even Dyson hair tools.

Owner Luke Willmott said: “I don’t know if I’m more excited or the local community is more excited.

“It’s a relief to have a line in the sand, but we are now under a lot of pressure and still have a mountain to climb, but everyone is behind us.”

The gym is due to open on January 31, following significant delays across the project, including with the building, finances and planning.
