Maynard will look at red card again before deciding to make a challenge

STUART Maynard said he needs to look back at the challenge which saw Notts County striker Alassana Jatta sent off late in Saturday's 1-0 loss to AFC Wimbledon before deciding whether or not to appeal the red card.

But the Magpies boss referenced the wealth of chances his men created in Saturday's League Two play-off semi-final first leg at Meadow Lane, with Conor Grant forcing a number of saves from the excellent Owen Goodman, as a sign they can bounce back.

A second-half header from Riley Harbottle was enough to give the Dons a slender advantage heading into the second leg at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on Saturday (12.30pm).

In another blow for Notts, striker and talisman David McGoldrick limped off just moments before Jatta's flashpoint, leaving Maynard potentially without his first choice striking pair for the trip to south west London.

The boss, however, is hopeful the issue is no more than cramp, but told the BBC he would need to speak with the medical staff for further prognosis.
