VICTIM LOST A LITRE OF BLOOD BUT SURVIVED MULTIPLE INJURIES

- By MARTIN NAYLOR

Machete-wielding boy struck man 'at least 15 times' in 'wild' attack

A MACHETE-wielding 16-year-old boy chased a man down city streets and launched two savage attacks on him.

Shocking CCTV played at Nottingham Crown Court showed the teenager, whose identity is protected by law, repeatedly striking Ellis Bishop with the fearsome weapon “at least 15 times” as the victim at one point lay on the ground trying to defend himself.

On the gruesome footage, a blood-soaked Mr Bishop managed to struggle away from the first attack in St Ann’s Way and to outside Framework's Mechanic's House hostel, in Alfred Street North, both in St Ann’s, where the teenager used the machete five more times on him. The victim, who is in his 30s, lost a litre of blood but survived the assaults despite suffering “multiple injuries” to his head, neck and arms.
