Her last words to me were 'see you tomorrow' - I was completely unaware of her plans

PETER Wilson had only popped back to Nottingham for a night to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
When he returned to his London apartment, he found his wife, Beverly Sand, had taken her own life. Her arm was still warm to the touch.
Despite being able to prove he was 120 miles away at the time of her death, Peter was taken to a police station, questioned, fingerprinted, swabbed and even checked for gun-shot residue.
While describing the evening in November 2022 as the “most traumatic of my life” he was not surprised at his wife's decision.
Eighty-four days previously, Beverly, 76, had been diagnosed with terminal oesophageal cancer and was later given just months to live.
Having been “very active” all her life, she was facing a cruel decline that would have led to an inability to even digest food.
“The fact that Beverly took her own life wasn’t a complete surprise to me. We talked about going to Switzerland,” said Peter, 75, speaking to the Post in the kitchen of his Meadows home.
“But in my mind, I thought we'll go through the chemotherapy, it will end, there'll be a few extra months we'll have together, and maybe I'll be dealing with all this the following spring or summer.
“So the fact that it happened in November was a real shock to me.
“My guess is, knowing Beverly, she would have deliberately timed her death at a point when she knew I could prove I was 120 miles away and therefore not part of her death at the time.
“Her last spoken words to me were ‘see you tomorrow: So I was completely unaware of any of her plans”
