Chaiiwala's desi breakfasts, wala wraps and Bombay bowls join Birds Bakery cobs and McDonald's burgers on the ground floor near the Clocktower entrance in Milton Street.

It is the third Chaiiwala location in the city, with shops in Hyson Green and the recently opened drive-through in Castle Boulevard.

The bustling 45-seater cafe has tables outside and in the central walkway in front of a striking image of the Taj Mahal.

Asam Masood, who manages Chaiiwala's day-to-day operations in the East Midlands, said: “For the company it’s a great step having this here in the middle of Nottingham and it will definitely give the Chaiiwala brand more visibility across the city.

“Castle Boulevard is going really well.
