THE first-ever Super Soapbox Challenge in Nottingham has been hailed a success after attracting crowds of more than 35,000 people and raising more than £4,500 for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA).

A total of 28 teams took part in the race on Sunday, May 10, in Nottingham centre, raising £4,607 with donations still coming in. Rachel Wilson, head of philanthropy and community at LNAA, said: "To be chosen as the charity for the first ever Nottingham Super Soapbox Challenge was a real honour. We are so grateful to everyone who contributed to the LNAA on the day.
