Drivers lose cheapest car park in city as work begins on student flats

A CAR park that ended up being one of Nottingham’s cheapest has disappeared to make way for a six-storey block of student flats.
The car park was in place for about a year and charged just £4 for 24 hours of city centre parking, compared to the £18 drivers pay in a city council car park.
The car park, on the corner of Huntingdon Street and Alfred Street North, has disappeared as work begins on the block of 210 student flats.
The site was previously home to a catalogue furniture store and the Allan Perry garages. Both businesses relocated.
Plans for student accommodation were first approved in 2021 and building work is now under way.
