City council puts vacant play centre up for sale

NOTTINGHAM City Council has decided to dispose of a former children's play centre which has been vacant for more than three years.

St Ann's Play Centre, in Nugent Gardens, St Ann's, is on the market for offers in excess of £170,000.

The facility closed in March 2022 and has been vacant since, according to council documents. The single-storey building comprises a multiple-use games area, a grassed play area with adventure playground and adjacent unused leisure land.

The sale decision, taken on May 14, was published on Wednesday and adds that the site holds "no strategic or operational importance".

The document reads: “It is in the best interests of the council to take this opportunity to dispose of the asset on the open market with a view to securing best consideration, rather than retain and incur future liabilities.”
