Church tells woman she cannot exhume graves of her sister and father

A NOTTINGHAMSHIRE woman has been denied permission by the Church of England to exhume her father and sister in a bid to reunite her late family members.

Rita Harbury-Carlisle, who owns the Nottingham Pet Crematorium, purchased two plots at the Wilford Hill Cemetery at West Bridgford - one for her and her husband when their time comes and the neighbour-ing one for her mother, father and sister.

Mrs Harbury-Carlisle’s mother has since died and is buried at Wilford Hill, along with other members of the wider family. Mrs Harbury Carlisle's sister Valerie, who died aged six months in 1948, was buried at Bingham Cemetery.
