MP BACKS APPEAL AS ORGANISERS SEARCH FOR NEW FUNDING
A CHARITY helping homeless and vulnerable people has launched an urgent appeal after losing the support of its biggest funder.
SFICE (Support For Individuals in a Caring Environment) Foundation provides freshly cooked, three-course meals in a warm, environment for needy Nottingham people.
The charity's café opens three days a week and provided more than 5,000 meals last year.
Service users have also received emergency food parcels, clothing, and toiletries and been provided with showers and laundry facilities, as well as health and wellbeing support.
SFICE Foundation chief operations officer Sarah Robertson-Staples said that the service on Raleigh Street, in the Arboretum, lost its café funding after the scheduled end of a major multiyear grant.
The charity is now planning to reapply for the grant while making efforts to bridge the interim gap.
