A BUS driver alerted police shortly before a knife and drugs were discovered in Nottingham city centre.

Two officers were on patrol near Lower Parliament Street on Thursday morning when they were approached by the driver.

He told them he had just seen two women pleading with a group of men to hand back a mobile phone and a passport.

The officers found the two women shouting at a man in Thurland Street.
