Boss jailed after using £700k from failing firms for 'reckless gambling'

A CONSTRUCTION boss has been jailed after he moved more than £700,000 from four failing companies and transferred the money to his casino account.

Wesley Grainger-Smith appeared at Lincoln Crown Court for sentencing. The 66-year-old, from Winthorpe, Newark, removed the funds from the struggling construction companies between 2014 and 2017. This included Eagleport Ltd, Smiths Constructions Ltd, Smiths Construction Services Ltd and Smiths Construction Specialists Ltd.
