'Aggressive growth' pledge as Boots takeover is completed

THE new owner of Boots is plotting aggressive growth after the $10 billion deal to buy its parent company was concluded.

The takeover of Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), which had been the US-based parent company of Nottinghamshire’s largest firm since 2014, was completed yesterday.

Following private equity firm Sycamore Partners’ acquisition of struggling US pharmacy chain WBA, Boots’ new owner has said it will be operating in a standalone private company along with WBA’s other international ventures.
