Govt to seek additional funds in winter session
Mint Mumbai
|October 31, 2025
Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman is likely to seek Parliament’s nod for additional government funds for fiscal 2026 in the upcoming winter session, two people aware of the development said.
In the ₹50-trillion annual budget, revenue receipts are seen falling short due to personal income tax and GST cuts.
The amount sought will be finalized by the second half of November after consultations between expenditure secretary V. Vualnam and various departments, said one of the two persons.
