A 22-year-old Utah man, Tyler Robinson, has been arrested in connection with the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, President Donald Trump announced Friday, marking a major breakthrough in a case that has reignited concerns over political violence in the United States.

"With a high degree of certainty, we have him," Trump said during a live Fox News interview, crediting a minister who cooperated with law enforcement in helping identify Robinson. "Somebody that was very close to him said, 'Hmm, that's him,'" the president added.
A law enforcement official, speaking anonymously to The Associated Press, confirmed Robinson's identity but stressed that the investigation remains ongoing. Neither the FBI nor the Justice Department has released official statements, though Utah authorities scheduled a press briefing for later Friday. News of the arrest arrived only hours after federal investigators issued photographs asking the public for help locating the suspect.
