Project to provide 89 km of direct rail connectivity between two countries
Marking a new era in bilateral relations, India and Bhutan will establish two cross-border rail links — the 58-km Kokrajhar-Gelephu line in Assam and the 31-km Banarhat-Samtse line in West Bengal — at an estimated cost of Rs 4,033 crore, providing nearly 89 km of direct rail connectivity between India and the Himalayan kingdom.
