|New Delhi 01March2025
In a decision that will benefit more than seven crore subscribers, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has decided to keep the interest rate on EPF deposits unchanged at 8.25% for the financial year 2024-25.
The Central Board of Trustees (CBT) of EPFO made this announcement during its 237th meeting held in New Delhi on Friday, chaired by Union Minister for Labour & Employment Mansukh Mandaviya.
CBT recommended 8.25 per cent annual rate of interest to be credited on EPF accumulations in members’ accounts for the financial year 2024-25,” stated the labour ministry in an official release.
This interest rate will be officially notified by the government before EPFO credits it to subscribers’ accounts. The decision maintains the same rate that was set for 2023-24, which had seen a marginal increase from 8.15 per cent in 2022-23.
