After Rohit's Test retirement, Kohli seems set to follow in his footsteps

NEW DELHI: After Rohit Sharma's surprise Test cricket retirement call, it seems Virat Kohli is also heading down the same road.

Speculations are rife that Kohli has communicated the BCCI about his desire to retire from Tests ahead of the five-match England series, which begins on June 20.

It is learnt that the board was told about the decision earlier this week, while some reports suggest that the talks have been swirling for over a month. It is also understood that the Indian superstar is likely to opt out of the England tour. The development stems from the time when Kohli, who endured a lean patch in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, had reminded his teammates repeatedly of calling it a day in Tests and how 'he was done' with Test cricket.
