DGCA steps up IndiGo scrutiny; airline announces Rs 10,000 compensation

Aviation regulator DGCA intensified its supervision of Indi Go on Thursday as the airline continued to struggle with large-scale operational disruptions.

Officials from the watchdog were stationed at the carrier's Gurugram headquarters to track daily operations, refund processing, crew deployment, and routes affected by staffing issues. The move comes a day after the regulator assigned two members of an oversight panel to remain on site.

Indi Go, which normally runs around 2,300 flights a day, said it expects to operate 1,950 flights on Thursday, carrying nearly 3 lakh passengers. Airports, however, continued to report cancellations, with more than 200 flights grounded across Delhi and Bengaluru, according to sources. The civil aviation ministry has instructed the airline to trim its winter schedule by 10 per cent as disruptions persist.
