Jor-El Espina presents a collection inspired and guided by Patis Tesoro
Fashion designers taking inspiration from different forms of art and facets of culture is nothing new.
But designers creating works in homage to a fellow designer is rare—and tricky. When done theright way, however, it not only presents the highest form of respect but also becomes an artistic dialogue across time.
That is exactly what fashion designer Jor-El Espina aims to present through his latest collection. Dubbed “Heirloom,” the collection is inspired and guided by the Grand Dame of Philippine Fashion, Patis Tesoro.
The idea struck Jor-El in 2024 when he was invited by the ladies of ArteFino, one of the leading local fairs in the Philippines, to visit the legendary designer's home in San Pablo, Laguna.
