Trough of LPA, ‘habagat’ to bring rains over most of Luzon, Visayas

Residents in Luzon and the Visayas should prepare for scattered rains this weekend as the trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” continue to affect the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday, August 16.

In its weather forecast, PAGASA said the trough of an LPA and the “habagat” are expected to bring rain over large parts of Luzon and the Visayas.

The Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Batanes, and the Babuyan Islands are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA.
