'Lonely Planet' co-founder Tony Wheeler reveals places he will never set foot in again

Seven destinations no longer worth visiting

Russia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the US... These four places are no longer worth visiting.

That is, at least according to “Lonely Planet” travel guide co-founder Tony Wheeler, who recently shared a list of locations he has sworn off from ever returning to. Alongside his wife, Maureen, Tony has spent a good chunk of his life traveling the world and writing guidebooks about key locations worth checking out.

In a blog post that initially started as just four countries, Tony has since doubled down and named three more areas he has fallen out of love with. Here are the seven destinations and why Tony has adamantly proclaimed he will never visit them again.

Bali, Indonesia

In what seems like a reluctant move from Tony, Bali is included in his list for one simple reason... Traffic. He cites how he had to sit through two hours of congested roads to get from the airport to Ubud. Tony, however, feels he can still be convinced to return if he finds there’s a good reason Bali can entice him to come back.
