Purchase cap for P29-rice hiked to 30 kilos in Kadiwa stores

The government has increased the maximum volume of rice a household can buy from Kadiwa stores to 30 kilos, an Agriculture official said.

In a recent Palace briefing, National Food Authority (NFA) Administrator Larry Lacson said Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. recently ordered an increased in the maximum cap for the P29 per kilo of rice.

The move increases from 10 kilos to 30 kilos the maximum of volume of rice the poor and vulnerable households can purchase per month.

The DA also broadened the reach of its P29 per kilo rice program by adding more Kadiwa stores nationwide, Lacson said.
