Over 40,000 tons of garbage collected in Manila

Over 40,500 tons of garbage have been collected in Manila since June 30, according to the city government, as part of intensified cleanup operations aimed at addressing persistent flooding in the capital.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso urged all 896 barangay officials to actively continue participating in the citywide "Clean-Up Day" campaign.

The initiative is a key part of his broader efforts to mitigate flooding, particularly during the rainy season.
