New Batangas logistics hub to link with SCMB railway

The newly inaugurated logistics and supply chain hub in Batangas could soon be a strategic site that will complement the proposed Subic-Clark-Manila-Batangas (SCMB) Railway, a development seen to significantly boost trade in the province and nearby areas.

In a statement, Sinisian Lemery Batangas Port and Industrial Park Corp. (SLBPIPC) said it is positioning the hub for potential multimodal integration with the SCMB Railway, connecting land-based freight with seaborne trade.

Spanning seven hectares, the industrial estate located along the western coast of Batangas aims to serve as a gateway for cargo, cement, and fuel shipments within Luzon.

The facility has two dedicated berths that can accommodate vessels with a maximum size of 50,000 deadweight tons (DWT) and fuel tankers up to 30,000 DWT.
