JTI claims top spot in PH employer rankings

Japan Tobacco International's (JTI) Philippine unit recently hit a major milestone by being named the country's top employer by the Top Employers Institute.

While the company has been on this list for five years running, this is the first time they've actually taken the number one spot.The ranking comes after a year where the company received perfect marks in nearly every audit area, including their overall business strategy, ethical standards, and the quality of their work environment.

JTI Philippines is currently one of 14 branches globally to earn a first-place ranking this year. This news arrives at a time when the company is growing faster than any other tobacco player in the country.

Ari Wisnubroto, the director of People and Culture for the local unit, noted that the top ranking is proof of their efforts to actually improve the daily lives of their staff rather than just talking about it.
