Hydrogen push gains ground

The Department of Energy (DOE) is pushing forward with its hydrogen exploration efforts, conducting a survey in two Luzon provinces to gather geological and environmental data that will guide service contractors in their exploration activities.

In a briefing on Wednesday, July 9, DOE Energy Resource Development Bureau (ERDB) Director Demujin F. Antiporda said the agency had completed a reconnaissance survey in Zambales and Pangasinan, which fall within predetermined contract areas offered in the 2024 Philippine energy bid round.
The DOE's technical team also conducted field assessments at Mangatarem hot spring in Pangasinan, and Botolan hot spring and Nagsasa seep in Zambales.
