Gov't workers begin receiving mid-year bonus totaling P63.7 B

Government workers, including military and uniformed personnel (MUP), started receiving their mid-year bonuses totaling P63.7 billion beginning Thursday, May 15, Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman said.
"Starting today, May 15, our qualified government workers will begin receiving their mid-year bonus, which is equivalent to one month of their basic pay," Pangandaman announced.
Of the total budget, P47.6 billion or 74.7 percent is allocated for civilian personnel, while the remaining 25.3 percent, amounting to P16.1 billion, is set aside for MUP.
Pangandaman said in a statement that the funds for the mid-year bonus were released by the DBM to implementing agencies as early as January.
