31 areas to experience 'dangerous' heat index despite rainfall this weekend

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday, May 10, announced that a combination of easterlies and a frontal system will bring rain showers and thunderstorms to parts of the Philippines this weekend.

However, PAGASA also warned that 31 areas across the country may experience “dangerous” levels of the heat index, posing health risks to the public.

According to PAGASA’s latest weather bulletin, the frontal system is expected to affect parts of Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains, especially in Batanes.

Meanwhile, the easterlies—warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean—will affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
