China marks 76th founding anniversary with message of progress, peace, and friendship

In a heartfelt celebration marking the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chinese ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian delivered a powerful message of unity, progress, and enduring friendship between China and the Philippines.

The event, held on Sept. 25, at Shangri-La The Fort in Taguig City, attended by dignitaries, diplomats, and friends of China, also served as a poignant farewell for the ambassador, who is concluding nearly six years of service in the country.

"It is a great honor and pleasure to welcome you all as we gather here to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China," Ambassador Huang Xilian began, extending his warmest appreciation to the guests in attendance.

Reflecting on China's journey since 1949, the ambassador highlighted the nation's transformation into a global economic powerhouse, a hub of innovation, and a steadfast advocate for peace. He noted that China now stands as the world's second-largest economy, contributing nearly 30 percent to global economic growth, with a 5.3 percent GDP expansion in the first half of the year alone.
