₱11 price cap set for wind auction
Manila Bulletin
|February 23, 2026
The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) finalized a higher price ceiling for offshore wind projects, a move designed to jumpstart a nascent sector while balancing the country’s aggressive renewable energy targets with consumer affordability.
In a statement released over the weekend, the regulator set the Green Energy Auction Reserve, or GEAR, price for large-scale offshore wind projects at P11 per kilowatt-hour, an upward adjustment from the P10.3859 per kilowatt-hour ceiling initially proposed at the end of 2025.
