THE victim of a horrific stabbing on a quiet estate desperately banged on the front door of a nearby house for help, witnesses told the Manchester Evening News as a murder investigation was launched.

Emergency services rushed to Lulworth Gardens in Baguley, Wythenshawe, at around 8.30am yesterday following reports of a disturbance.

A huge cordon was placed around the neighbourhood with a blue tent erected outside a house on the square.

Police officers and forensics teams swarmed the area, while shell-shocked residents looked on.

The M.E.N. understands the horrific attack took place at around 8am. One dad, who was getting his son ready for school, held back tears as he relived the horrific scenes. “I was getting my son ready for school and I could see everything from the window,” he told the M.E.N. “She was screaming.”
