Do you recall the surprisingly popular television sitcom Sorry!, from the 1980s, starring Ronnie Corbett as an apologetic librarian living at home with his parents?

- RICHARD IRVINE

Obviously, I don't because I’m far too young, so let's pretend I learned of it through a much older friend, who compared yours truly to the comically tragic manchild trapped in his boyhood home.

Admittedly, I am living with mother and father a few days a week for work purposes, but it’s a far different scenario.

For a start, I'm much taller than Ronnie Corbett and my mother is close but not quite as domineering, and I do have my own house, but is it’s nowhere near my job.

And why shouldn't I take advantage of their hospitality, geographical location, laundry services as well as enjoy evening meals far better than I could come up with?
