Jailed, rogue plumber who targeted elderly

AN 'emergency plumber' who charged homeowners 'grossly inflated call-out and repair fees' has been jailed.

A court heard Suhaib Sirajudin took advantage of customers and frequently targeted the elderly, vulnerable or people who lived alone, trading standards bosses said.

In total, they said the 39-year-old defrauded victims to the tune of £250,000.

National Trading Standards (NTS), which provides national consumer protection enforcement and launched an investigation into his practices, said Sirajudin also 'deliberately damaged victims' properties in order to charge more for repairs.
